This indenture, made this 13th day of November A.D. 1895, between N. C. Boyd and wife E. E. Boyd of Knox County in the State of Tennessee of the first part and John N. Hutton of Blount County and State of Tennessee of the second part, witnesseth that the said parties of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of seven hundred and seventy five dollars, two hundred and fifty dollars of which amount is to them in hand paid by the said party of the second part the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, and the remainder is settled by the said second party assuming the payment of a note with interest executed by N. C. Boyd and J. M. Boyd composing the firm of N. C. Boyd & Son to Jas McMurray on Mch 22, 1895, with Chas. Pflangie and J. G. Norton as sureties and secured by trust deed on the property herein conveyed made by said N.C. Boyd and wife to T. H. Cooper Trustee and recorded in Trust Book of deeds Vol. 5, page 474 in Register’s office for Blount Co., said note being for $500.00 five hundred dollars with interest and the said Hutton also obligates himself to pay the taxes for this year, have granted, bargained, sold, and conveyed, and do hereby grant, bargain, sell and convey unto the said party of the second part, the following described premises to wit, situated in District no. 19 in Blount County and State of Tennessee a certain house and lot of land containing ½ acre more or less, situated in the town of Maryville on the corner of Cemetry and Boyd Streets fronting on Cemetry Street and bounded by Chas. Henry on the East, the heirs of Wm. Boyd (deed) on the South and Boyd Street on the West. Being the same place where the first parties lived until recently. With the hereditaments and appurtenances thereto appertaining, hereby releasing all claims to Homestead and Dower therein to have and to hold the said premises to the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever. In witness whereof, the said parties of the first part have first written.

Boyd with whom I am personally acquainted and who acknowledged that he executed the within instrument for the purposes therein contained And E. E. Boyd, wife of the said N. C. Boyd having appeared before me privately and apart from her husband, the said E. E. Boyd acknowledged the execution of the said deed to have been done by her freely voluntarily and understandingly, without compulsion or contraint from her said husband and for the purposes therein expressedly witness my hand and official seal at office in Knoxville on this the 14th day of November A.D. Eighteen hundred and ninety-five.
