Nathan Boyd, who built The Moses Gamble House in the late 1880's, owned a cabinetmaking shop on the corner of Church and Love Street. Early on, Boyd had a business partner, George Huffstetler. In 1889, Boyd bought his partner's interest and the business was called N. C. Boyd's Planing Mill and Cabinetry Shop. Later, his son joined him and it was renamed N.C. Boyd and Son. The buliding apparently burned around 1895. The 1892 map of Maryville above shows the location of the cabinetry shop. Note that the map is certified by Andrew Gamble, Moses Gamble's brother who later served as mayor of Maryville from 1939-1947.
